From St. Vincent to Grenada

St. Vincent and Grenada, two of the best-kept secrets in the Caribbean, make the perfect start and finish for a charter cruise. Dependable tradewinds and quick distances from point-to-point allow Whisper and crew to take guests on an exploration of a variety of different idyllic islands over the course of a week.

Day One: Meet Captain Clive Youlten and crew in St. Vincent and settle in with a tour of the yacht and lunch onboard. Spend the afternoon and evening anchored off Chateaubelair on the west coast of the island. The remote town, a large fishing village with many untouched beaches, epitomizes true Caribbean culture. Cap off the day with a relaxing dinner prepared by Whisper’s Chef Chris Deighan.

Day Two: Explore Chateaubelair’s many local attractions, including Trinity Falls and Darkview Falls to view rock carvings believed to have been left by Carib Indians. For lunch, check out Basil’s Bar and Restaurant for some local fare. Spend the afternoon hiking to the top of La Soufriere volcano, just south of Chateaubelair, to experience its breathtaking views. 

Day Three: Start off your morning with a quick boat trip to the Falls of Baleine, one of St. Vincent’s finest natural wonders. From there, enjoy a lunch cruise to the island of Bequia and anchor in picturesque Admiralty Bay. Tour the island, known as “Tropical Nantucket”, by land before spending the rest of the afternoon on a diving expedition arranged by the Whisper crew.  For dinner, try local treats, including “goat water” soup, Bitter Lemon soda and Hairoun brew at one of the many friendly restaurants on the bay. 

Day Four: Spend the day visiting five tiny uninhabited islands known as the Tobago Cays. Snorkel among an array of coral and fish at Horseshoe Reef—one of the world’s most well-preserved underwater ecosystems—before enjoying a relaxing late afternoon and evening onboard Whisper. 

Day Five: Arrive in Canouan right after sunrise and enjoy a round of golf at the Trump International Golf Club or a morning massage and facial at Raffles’ Amrita Spa. In the afternoon, head to Union Island to hike the island’s largest mountain Mt. Taboi. For dinner, enjoy gourmet dining and panoramic views from La Varenne at the Villa Monte Carlo. 

Day Six: Awake in Grenada and take in the lush surroundings with a morning tour of the island’s many waterfalls. Find out why Grenada is known as the “Isle of Spice” with a walk through the island’s famed Marketplace for lunch. Before dinner onboard Whisper, do some diving or snorkeling at Grenada’s renown Underwater Sculpture Park. 

Day Seven: Start a relaxing final day with some sunbathing and swimming off the yacht. Head to Point Salines, on the southern tip of the island, for lunch at The Aquarium, known as one of the island’s best independent restaurants. A scenic cruise in St. Lucia

Breathtaking topography, secluded beaches and rich history coupled with convenient travel options for visitors coming from the U.S. and the United Kingdom make St. Lucia a prime destination for chartering. Join Whisper and its crew on a scenic and interactive island adventure in this Caribbean paradise.

Day One: Step onboard Whisper at the Marina at Marigot Bay on the western coast of St. Lucia, and meet Captain Clive Youlten and crew over lunch. Sail north to an overnight anchorage off Pigeon Island in Gros Islet, and spend the afternoon exploring the national park’s well-laid trails and historic artifacts, including Fort Rodney—used to spy on French Ships in neighboring Martinique in the 18th Century. Spend the evening onboard Whisper sipping cocktails and enjoying freshly caught fish prepared by Chef Chris Deighan. 

Day Two: Decompress with a round or two of golf at the St. Lucia Golf Club or with a book on the beach at Pigeon Island. For dinner, head to Rodney Bay Village nearby and enjoy local cuisine and rum along with the sounds of live bands before spending the night anchored in the harbor. 

Day Three: Spice up the morning with a four-hour ATV tour of St. Lucia’s 1,000 acres of rainforest, beaches and rivers. After lunch, beginner and expert mountain bikers alike can rent equipment from Bike St. Lucia and explore a range of trails that trace the island’s unique landscape. In the evening, enjoy a champagne sunset cruise back to Marigot Bay for a fine dining experience at the Rainforest Hideaway restaurant. 

Day Four: From Marigot Bay, cruise south to Anse Cochon Beach for fun in the sun. Snorkel through a host of beautiful coral formations and schools of bright, tropical fishes before heading to lunch at one of Ti Kaye Village’s many renowned restaurants. Finish the day with a sunset cruise back to Marigot Bay for an overnight anchorage. 

Day Five: Start the morning exploring the many wonders of St. Lucia’s rainforest with a zip lining adventure through its canopy. After lunch, take a scenic hike through the Millet Nature Trail and explore the park’s bird sanctuary, which is home to a host of exotic birds, including five endemic species (St. Lucia’s Black Finch, Parrot, Warbler, Oriole and Pewee). Return to Marigot Bay and enjoy a full body massage at the Marigot Bay Hotel’s Lapli Spa or a day’s end horseback ride on the beach before heading to dinner at JJ’s Plaza Restaurant overlooking the bay. 

Day Six: Set out on an early morning cruise south to the town of Soufriere and anchor near the Pitons— two side-by-side volcanic spires in the sea. Tour the town’s Diamond Falls at the Soufriere Estate—one of the oldest and best preserved estates on St. Lucia—and take a dip in its rejuvenating sulfur springs before touring the botanical gardens nestled in a natural gorge on the property. Dine at Ladera Resort for lunch before taking a late afternoon dive near the Pitons and enjoying an evening onboard Whisper. 

Day Seven: Spend the final day in St. Lucia sailing Whisper up and down its western coast or relaxing at one of the island’s many luxury resorts. Day One: Begin your New England charter adventure in historic Newport, Rhode Island. Take in the sights and sounds of Bowen’s and Bannister’s Wharves before meeting Captain Clive Youlten and crew on the waterfront nearby. Enjoy lunch, prepared by Whisper’s Chef Chris Deighan, while sailing south to Block Island for an overnight anchorage. Popular with summer tourists, the tiny island boasts a plethora of activities, including cycling, hiking, sailing and fishing. For dinner, don’t miss The Oar Restaurant, famous for its mudslides and clam cakes. 

Day Two: Take a trip into town for some shopping and exploring before cruising to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts for an overnight anchorage. This famous island retreat attracts visitors from far and wide during the summer months with its charming features and friendly locals. Before a tasty dinner onboard Whisper, visit Oak Bluffs to check out its Gingerbread cottages and Edgartown to enjoy the many shops that line its streets. 

Day Three: See all that Martha’s Vineyard has to offer with one of the island’s famed bus tours before sailing over to Chappaquiddick Island, off the eastern end of Martha’s Vineyard, for an afternoon of fishing and swimming. For dinner, anchor in the harbor off Edgartown and head in for an island brewed pint and some live music at the Wharf Pub and Restaurant. 

Day Four: Catch the sunrise from Whisper as it sets sail to Nantucket, Massachusetts for the next overnight anchorage. Hop off the boat at Straight Wharf and head to lunch at Toppers at the Wauwinet Inn, which offers unforgettable local cuisine and scenic views of Nantucket Bay. Walk down the cobbled streets to the Whaling Museum for a full history of the island. After a sunset dining experience onboard Whisper, head back to land and take a taxi to the center of the island for live music and entertainment at the Chicken Box. 

Day Five: Spend the morning catching the rays at Brant Point beach before renting bikes and tracing the island’s many nooks and crannies, including the charming village of Siasconset on the eastern end of Nantucket. Finish the day with a plate of fresh seafood at the Brant Point Grille. 

Day Six: Wake up to the sound of halyards clinking against the mast as the crew prepares for its cruise back to Newport. After Whisper docks at the Newport Shipyard, spend the late afternoon perusing art galleries and boutiques in Brick Alley and on lower Thames Street before enjoying local oysters and other delicious fare at the Moorings Restaurant and Grill, which overlooks Newport Harbor. 

Day Seven: Spend your final day touring Ocean Drive and visiting the historic mansions on Bellevue before heading to Gooseberry Beach in the late afternoon for a beach barbecue. Interested in additional destinations and itineraries? 


Gorgeous British Virgin Islands

With its turquoise blue waters, sheltered coves and swift island-to-island routes, the BVIs are a remarkable cruising destination. The British territory includes the islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke plus over 50 smaller islands and cays. Let the Whisper crew be your guide as you relax and explore.

Day One: Start the adventure from Village Cay Marina in Tortola with lunch onboard Whisper and a meet-and-greet with Captain Clive Youlten and crew. Cruise south to Norman Island for an overnight anchorage with access to swimming and snorkeling in the island’s caves, which local folklore has as once containing treasure (the island was the setting for Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Treasure Island). Cap off the day in “The Bight” Harbor with dinner at the William Thornton, floating bar and restaurant. 

Day Two: Start the morning off with a splash at “The Indians” off Norman Island. This elaborate rock formation features a series of grottoes inhabited by exotic fish and coral, and it is known by many as the most popular dive and snorkeling site in the BVIs. For lunch, cruise aboard Whisper north to Peter Island for a picnic on the beach at Deadman’s Bay. After a relaxing afternoon, sail farther north to Cooper Island for cocktails at the Beach Bar and an overnight anchorage in Manchioneel Bay. 

Day Three: From Cooper Island, sail west to Salt Island to dive the wreck of the RMS Rhone; a royal mail ship that broke down in 1867 and is known as the Caribbean’s most preserved underwater shipwreck. Have a fabulous lunch prepared by Whisper’s Chef Chris Deighan and cruise to Frenchman’s Cay in Tortola for some shopping at Pusser’s Company Store, the Sea Urchin Shop and the Sunny Caribbean Spice Co. Finish the day with dinner at Pusser’s Landing at Soper’s Hole. 

Day Four: Cruise northeast to Virgin Gorda and explore the famed geologic formation known as “The Baths”, a series of small sea pools lying beneath a canopy of giant granite boulders. These sheltered grottoes are located on the southern end of the island and create a unique setting for swimming and exploring. For lunch, head to the Crab Hole, located in the Valley of Virgin Gorda, for some West Indian fare. From there, sail to the island’s North Sound to anchor and explore the island on horseback, or hike through Gorda Peak National Park before enjoying a relaxing evening onboard. 

Day Five: In the morning, enjoy some windsurfing and hiking off Prickly Pear Island’s Vixen Point, and cruise on to Anegada’s Loblolly Bay for an afternoon of peace and tranquility on the island’s miles of untouched beaches. Cruise on to Guana Island for an overnight anchorage. 

Day Six: Explore Guana Island’s tropical forest and powdery white sand beaches before cruising to Great Harbor in Jost Van Dyke to take in more sights. Finish off the day with some entertainment at Foxy’s Bar, a popular year-round stop for anyone boating in the Caribbean. 

Day Seven: Wrap up the vacation in Sandy Cay, a tiny island off Jost Van Dyke. Snorkel and soak up some sun, or cruise back to Tortola to complete some final shopping before ending the day with a beach barbeque.  Interested in additional destinations and itineraries?

Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake, a favorite Whisper recipe

A Whisper favorite recipe  |  Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake

Before you start: Preheat oven to 350° f 


  • 1 3/4 cups finely diced Medjool dates
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups boiling water (as needed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup soft butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder


  1. Chop the dates finely and place into a stainless steel bowl leaving room on top
  2. Sprinkle baking soda over the top of the dates
  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, add sugar and butter. Mix well.
  4. Add flour and baking soda to the mixture above. Mix well. Set aside.
  5. Meanwhile, slowly pour the boiling water over the dates, just to the top.
  6. Mix the date mixture slowly, then fold into the rest of the batter.
  7. Pour the entire mixture into a well greased baking pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until firm.

Serve with warm caramel sauce, ice cream or creme Anglaise.
